Time for a change!

Lets start out with the usual HAPPY NEW YEAR! In case you did not receive my "Greetings" email, i would like to take this opportunity to apologise.

I hope to take this blog in a different direction from hereon. No more posting other authors articles. I shall try and stay indegenous from now onwards. I will probably have to take leads from others and gather information from wiki or imdb but i shall consciously try and keep that to a minimum.

India has been screaming "be the change" off late. While we can't all be activists, i shall do as i see fit to bring about change wherever i can. Polls show that indians are choosing the Unnamed and unknown soldier as the Indian of the year. Well personally, the indian soldier has always been and will always be the indian of the year.

I am terribly happy to see Omar Abdullah take over as CM in J&K. Its a step in the right path. Yesterday I saw the press conference held by the Foreign Secy Shiv Shankar Menon. If only all diplomats were as well spoken and learned as him, i think we would be so much better off. Following SSM we had Pranab Mukherjee giving a statement. The difference in delivery was massive. With all due respect to Mr. Mukherjee, I think compared to SSM he sucked big time!

Things are changing. I think we are moving in the right direction. Sure we have roadblocks like the recession, corruption, pakistan and what not standing in the way but there is still a hope.

Jai Hind!

dude well written. altough i must protest at considering the delivery the deciding factor of ability of a politician. shiv shankar menon is no very good indeed and so pranab mukherji. i agree with you that things may just be going in the right direction. Now one knows for a fact that if you want a good delivery Lalu prasad is unbeatable in the lok sabha(refer to his speech on railway budget & N-Deal debate). I also agree that he is a great leader in his own right but i dont think he can be anything other than a railway minister. what say

If i understand you correctly, you are saying SSM is not very good. Dude, u must have him confused with someone else. He's one of the best orators i have seen. Pranab is a far cry from SSM. Lalu speaks well man, but its slightly hard to take him seriously all the time. During the no confidence motion, it was omar abdullah's speech which was mind-blasting!! Delivery is important but the personality of the person should back it up. Imagine Russell Peters presenting the 5 year plan to the Parliament. It would be hard to take him seriously throughout. Lalu has a panache but he cannot be a spokesperson for india to the international community.

i agree with you that ssm is a great orator. there is no denying that but what i mean to say is that an individual's ability to speak fluent english may not exactly define the leadership in him. although i am not questioning his abilities as one either. The only reason i think pranab is good too is that he does not make vague diplomatic comments. he is pin point and hardcore

lol.. u misunderstand me... I think that the statement made by Pranab was likely written by somebody like SSM. :D No one is saying Pranab is bad. Just that impact is way more when SSM makes statements! :)

Yenyways, things are moving along well for sure. That's the consensus :)
