People's Choice Awards

As the name suggests The People's Choice Awards are given on the basis of votes made online for nominations compiled by a market research firm.

In light of the ongoing writers' strike, producers and CBS scrapped the usual ceremonial proceedings for more of a retrospective-style format—a major twist for the People's Choice Awards. Or, really, for any awards show.

The show was taped and not live as normally held. It was hosted by Queen Latifah and broadcast on CBS. It's now evident that the WGA strike is really eating into ad revenue which broadcasters get during the award season.

NBC has already pulled the plug on The Golden Globes, which is a major bread winner for the network. The WGA did not give permission to actors to cross the picket lines to attend the award show thus NBC was forced to pull the plug.

Lets all hope that the strike is resolved at the earliest. Not only for the writer's sake but us viewers. The shows have all but dried up. Soon even movies will start getting held up which is not something that any of us want. There are a lot of shows which have been forced to shut down production because of lack of scripts.

Anyway, here's the list of nominees & winners of the people's choice awards. I have gotta say, i will agree with most.
The one i would like to change would have to be "What I've Done" by Linkin Park as Favorite Song from a Soundtrack.
